Peaceful Contact Order
A Peaceful Contact Order may be issued in a domstic violence case after a Stay Away Order or Emergency Protective Order has been issued if the complainant comes forward and tells the District Attorney and the Judge that continued contact with the person arrested is wanted.
The Judge may set terms and conditions for issuing a Peaceful Contact Order which may include requiring the arrested person to participate in a batterer's treatment program. The batterer's treatment program lasts a minimum of 52 weeks and meets weekly for a minimum of two hours. Other terms may be imposed as a condition of issuing a Peaceful Contact Order.
